Dick Mendenhall Mourned
Avid boating and joke aficionado Dick Mendendall was buried at sea following his death from a heart attack after a three-month battle with cancer. The Portland, Oregon born 74-year-old founder of California Woodworking Machinery spent 40 years in woodworking, opening Cal Wood in 1965 with his wife and children, and retiring in 1992. A long-time member of the WMIA, he is survived by his wife Ginny, their children and extended family who request donations by friends and associates to the American Cancer Society, 74140 El Paseo, Palm Desert, CA 92260.
