Santa Fe, NM – Mark Miles, global technical director at Sherwin-Williams, has joined PureColor Inc., as VP of product development. PureColor makes high performance wood coatings.
Miles has 25 years of experience in formulating coating technologies, product development, and plant operations.
Market Expansion Planned
“His experience and leadership in launching new products for wood product manufacturers is an asset to the company as we expand in the marketplace,” Chris Traylor, PureColor CEO, said.
Miles helped Sherwin-Williams start its Wood & Composite Building Products division and expand annual sales to more than $50 million, according to PureColor. He managed a team of chemists and technicians in the development of architectural coatings, including VOC-compliant and other wood coatings.
Earlier at Sherwin-Williams, Miles managed Columbus, OH plant operations where he was responsible for formula processing, quality control, and plant service.
He held previous positions at Akzo Nobel and Desoto Coatings Ltd., which was acquired by Sico Inc. in 1991. www.purecolorinc.com
