Modern Woodworking’s 2009 Small Shop of the Year Entry Form

Rules and Criteria
The 2009 Small Shop of the Year contest was created to recognize woodworking companies that exemplify the highest standards of woodworking professionals: business acumen, production management expertise, attention to safety and community involvement.

To enter, an applicant must:

  • Have annual revenues of $2 million or less
  • Have had at least five years of woodworking industry experience
  • Have an excellent safety record
  • Have and rely on a production machinery mix that includes both automated machinery and high-precision power tools
  • Be able to represent the woodworking industry in a positive way

           
Woodworking companies that meet these criteria are invited to enter. Companies can also be nominated by others in the woodworking industry. An applicant is required to complete this form in its entirety. Co-owners should submit one application listing both owners. All entries must be received by September 1, 2008. All information is confidential and is only used for judging purposes. Each finalist will be featured in Modern Woodworking magazine. One finalist will be chosen as the 2009 Small Shop of the Year.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, fill out all information requested on this entry form and mail of fax to: Jeff Crissey, Small Shop of the Year, 3200 Rice Mine Road NE, Tuscaloosa, AL 35406. All entries must be received by September 1, 2008. The 2008 Small Shop of the Year contest is open only to woodworking companies that have annual revenues of $2 million or less. It is NOT open to employees of Randall-Reilly Publishing Co. and its agents, and suppliers of this program ad their families. Offer void where prohibited and is subject to all federal, state and local laws. Modern Woodworking editors will select the six finalists and the 2009 Small Shop of the Year. Their decisions will be final. No responsibility is assumed for lost, misdirected, damaged or illegible entries.

PRIZES: The 2009 Small Shop of the Year winner will receive a trip to Las Vegas, to attend the AWFS Fair.

Finalists will be notified by mail and have an article published in a 2009 issue of Modern Woodworking magazine. Limit one (1) prize per family or household. For a list of the finalists, send a self-addressed stamped envelope after January 1, 2008 to Small Shop of the Year, 3200 Rice Mine Road NE, Tuscaloosa, AL 35406.
